Hormone Replacement Therapy is most often used in peri-menopause and menopause. Typical symptoms may include hot flashes, vaginal dryness, low libido, weight gain, irritability, moodiness and sleep disturbances. Compounding allows women to use bio-identical hormones rather than synthetic ones. Bio-identical hormones are plant derived (instead of chemically derived) and biologically identical to those naturally occurring in women.

Take the Burnout Questionnaire

This questionnaire designed by Dr. Freudenberger will help you determine if you have symptoms of a syndrome popularly known as "burnout." Burnout refers specifically to a type of adrenal fatigue brought about by lifestyle factors such as working too hard or juggling too many activities. Sleep Hygiene

  • Nightlight of less than

  • Cool, dark room
  • Go to bed warm
  • Have a regular bedtime
  • Reduce exercise & food intake before bedtime
  • Comfortable bed

  • Turn off TV/games 1 hour before bedtime
  • Warm bath/massage

  • Afternoon low. Around 3:00
    & 4:00 p.m. you start to feel like you have been drugged with sleeping pills

Deep Breathing Exercise

With tongue behind teeth:

  1. Breath in through the nose
    for a count of 7
  2. Hold for a count of 8
  3. Breath out through the
    mouth for a count of 4
  4. Repeat 5 times, 3 times daily

Stress Management

  • Reduce or eliminate alcohol, drugs and smoking
  • Drink more water
  • Get 7 hours of sleep each night
  • Prayer, yoga, meditation at least once a day
  • 20 minutes of aerobic exercise each day
  • Fill grocery cart with 16 whole plant foods you like (i.e. nuts, seeds, whole plants, whole grains, etc.)
  • Warm bath/shower daily
  • Touch/hug someone or stroke a pet
